God Gives Power to Gain Wealth

“You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant…”

— Deuteronomy 8:18 (ESV)

Wealth doesn’t begin with a paycheck—it begins with God. He is the one who gives us the ability, wisdom, and strength to gain wealth. Jesus taught us to pray, “Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11), reminding us that provision is part of God’s promise for our lives.

But God’s provision goes beyond daily needs. Through the Holy Spirit, He gives ideas, strategies, and insights to create and manage resources. This is more than financial success—it’s about fulfilling His purpose. God empowers us to build wealth not for selfish gain, but to bless others and expand His Kingdom.

When we recognize God as our Source, we shift from ownership to stewardship. Our finances become tools for generosity, missions, and impact. As we are faithful with what He entrusts to us, He multiplies it for His glory. God gives wealth-building power with purpose. Let’s walk in wisdom, live generously, and partner with Him to make a lasting impact.

Faith in the Cold: Christian Lessons from the Emperor Penguin

Faith in the Cold: Christian Lessons from the Emperor Penguin

In the frozen wilderness of Antarctica, emperor penguins display an awe-inspiring combination of perseverance, precision, and community—a living reflection of God's wisdom and the values He calls us to live by.

60 Seconds of Precision
When a mother penguin lays her single egg, she has just 60 seconds to transfer it to the father's feet. If it touches the ice for too long, the chick won’t survive. But here's the wonder: they practice the movement beforehand—again and again—until they master it. That’s not a chance. That’s divine design. The theory of evolution tells us that this complex, intelligent behavior came together and just happened by sheer chance. The complexity and beauty of the penguin’s behavior laugh in the face of evolution.

“Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them.” — Psalm 111:2

What the Emperor Penguin Teaches Us About Perseverance
Once the transfer is complete, the father stands still for nearly two months, holding the egg on his feet through sub-zero temperatures and howling winds, without food. He simply endures through these severe challenges. He doesn’t move, not for himself, but for the life growing under him.

✨ Perseverance.
✨ Faithful partnership.
✨ Sacrifice for the next generation.

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

Huddle Up: The Power of Unity
To survive the cold, males form tight huddles, rotating positions so no one stays in the cold too long. They don’t compete. They cooperate—because life depends on sacrifice and teamwork.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2

Stop Being a man of YOUR Word

Stop Being a man of YOUR Word.

“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.”-Hebrews 10:23 NLT

As humans living in a world subject to brokenness and disappointment, we have all failed. We have made promises that cannot be kept.

My friend Raegan recently had a situation come to light, where she had made a promise to harbor unforgiveness if someone betrayed her. When she was in fact betrayed, she was quick to action to show unforgiveness. She became resentful and angry and tried to justify her actions by saying she could not break her promise. She allowed this unforgiveness and pride to consume her for many months, until she finally understood that her own words were only failing her.

Pslams 119:160 tells us that, “The very essence of your words is truth; all your just regulations will stand forever.” (YouVersion Bible NLT)

Scripture tells us that our flesh fails us, but His word is true. It is time to put down the promises we have made that lead ourselves, and others, away from the Word of God. Now is the time to turn away from pride, and stand in humility, whether it causes embarrassment or not to ourselves and what we have claimed to be the truth. Our words will always fail us, but His word never will.

  • Take action today, to lead your family in the word of the Lord and come under the justice of God.

  • Repent of the words you have spoken that come against God, and realign yourself to His word. It’s time to put our pride to shame!

  • Ask the Lord to soften your heart to experience His unfailing promises in this life. And speak those out to yourself, the people you love, and the people you have hurt.

Lead Like Solomon

“Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.” – Abraham Lincoln
“Wisdom is better than weapons of war.” – Ecclesiastes 9:18

“Now, Lord my God, you have made your servant king in place of my father David. But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties.Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number. So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is ableto govern this great people of yours?”

10 The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. 11 So God said to him, “Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, 12 I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be.13 Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for—both wealth and honor—so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings. 14 And if you walkin obedience to me and keep my decrees and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life.” 15 Then Solomon awoke—and he realized it had been a dream.- 1 Kings 3:7-15

God blessed Solomon with tremendous wealth, honor, and long life. Here are some keys that Solomon used to get God’s attention. This is a very famous verse in which King Solomon asks for wisdom from God, and as a result, he becomes the man who is long considered the wisest man in the world. I find that we can discover some powerful truths on Godly leadership in these passages.

1. Solomon Loved the Lord and Walked in His Ways. The first way that Solomon walked with God was in Faithfulness.

A. Faithfulness: 1 Samuel 12:24: "Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you."

We need to trust God in our coming and going, in the tough times and the easy, the times of sickness and in health, when we are wealthy and when we are trying to find two nickels to rub together. God wants more than lip service. He wants obedience. Don’t be swayed by winds of doctrine, but stay faithful to the service that the Lord has commanded.
B. Righteousness
Proverbs 21:21"Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor."
2 Corinthians 5:21-For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

As believers, we know that we are not trying to gain righteousness but that we come from righteousness. We are made righteous in God’s eyes through Christ Jesus. Righteousness then becomes an extension, a fruit in our lives. If we are to lead like Solomon, we need to walk in righteousness.

2. Value Others in Humility

Solomon loved and valued his people. Notice his humility here describing them, and then take notice that his entire ask for wisdom was to be able to govern them rightly and to know good over evil: But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties.Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number… So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong.

It was important for Solomon to be able to govern the people of Israel well. Everyone deserves to be led well. He didn’t think of himself; he took his ego out of the equation and instead asked God for a gift to be a blessing and add value to God’s people.

In conclusion, if you and I want to lead like Solomon, we need to love the Lord by walking in Faithfulness and righteousness, and to value others in humility.
